About
Background
Derek has been surrounded by music from an early age. Being raised in Tulsa in the midst of a highly musical family inspired him to play music himself. Growing up learning to play violin for ten years crossed with playing guitar for the last fifteen has taught him several lessons in music in general and in musicianship as well.
Both instruments greatly honed skills of discerning the tuning and tone of an instrument. Thus, after graduating from university and deciding the next step, the world of music seemed a natural direction.
Training
Since starting his business in 2016, Derek has been spending time learning and practicing the art and craft of piano servicing through direct mentoring from his father who has 20+ years of experience as a Piano Technician combined with classes from the Piano Technicians Guild.
As a result there are three categories of services he can offer: Tuning, Tone and Touch. These services help to provide piano players the ability to focus on and enjoy the music by having their piano play and sound as they desire.
